Currently my fourth graders are gathering information as part of their country research, and rather than have them fill out traditional note cards which can be lost and make collaboration difficult, I decided to have them record their research notes using Padlet. I went ahead and created a Padlet board for each country being researched and posted these on the class Symbaloo. By doing this, students are able to access their work anywhere, I can periodically check student progress, and students can quickly glance at the topics to determine which need additional details. If you are looking for an alternative to handwritten note cards, I encourage you to give Padlet a try! My students have enjoyed recording their research in this manner, and are looking forward to drafting their research reports.
